9:30-10:30am   What is a Needs Map?
Lawyers often wrongfully assume they understand their clients' objectives, only to discover in the end that the client is dissatisfied with what the lawyer thought was a good result. Learn how to conduct an initial interview that results in a comprehensive list of needs and objectives and how this facilitates a greater likelihood of successful resolution.
10:30-11:30am   Exercises in Developing a Needs Map
After understanding the efficacy of a needs map, participants will employ this tool in a variety of hypothetical examples. Through this practice, lawyers become more comfortable with the tool, and experience its benefits.

"This is my third or fourth course with the Likeable Lawyer. Just like with my previous experiences, this course caused me to think about an aspect of representing real people - being aware of my clients' expectations that is often forgotten, taken for granted, or assumed to be handled. Thank you for giving me new skills to help me meet and exceed client expectations. "
Lucia McLaren,
Johnson Becker

"I was pleasantly surprised with the depth or probing of human motivations and the promotion of seeking win-win resolutions, a trait that I find sorely missing in the profession."
Mark Baker,
