1:15 - 2:15   An Atmosphere of Influence
Influence is built on perception of trust and credibility. This section introduces four subtle yet powerful elements that change other people’s perceptions and set a more agreeable mood.
2:15 - 3:45   Getting Them to Say “Yes”
Success in the practice of law depends on getting others to say “yes” to our proposals and requests. Clients and lawyers often become difficult when they perceive rejection of their ideas. This section presents the techniques of the most influential lawyers who rarely say “no,” and instead artfully re-direct discussions toward their own objectives.

4:00 - 5:00   Transforming Difficult Conversations
Opposing lawyers, clients and colleagues are more likely to listen to us if they feel they have been heard. In this section, lawyers learn the elements of influential listening and funnel questioning, and how to communicate with others in a way that invites professional support.

"This class is valuable because it helps you get outside your own head and gives you ways to see things from the other side's perspective, which is how true persuasion begins."
Robert Jackson,
Portland Superior Court

"The value of this class is extremely high."
Kenneth A. Miller III,
Miller Law Offices PLLC

"The course content and concepts were absolutely excellent! I cannot think of a more helpful course for any lawyer to take. I have practiced law for 38 years and have never attended a course that had more practical, concrete and excellent information for lawyers."
Nina Preston,
Attorney, Arizona Supreme Court

"Classes like this -- on human interactions -- are as valuable as any substantive CLE we might take. Interacting with people is fundamental to what we do. The legal profession needs more of this type of teaching. The program is very well curated, and Brian does an excellent job."
Michael Hamilton,
DLA Piper LLP

"The entire Basis of Influence series has exceeded my expectations and it is life-altering. Very worthwhile!"
Susan Valentine,
Robinson, Curley and Clayton
